God throl1gh all eternity. ... RETROSPECTION AND PROSPECTION. BY C. B. JORDAN. '\Ve should ever endeavor to make the future of our lives better than that which is in the pa.st. A retrospective view of the past may sometimes serve as an incentive to the accomplishment o,f future possibilities. Aga,in, it may tend to discourage rather than to encourage. Some who look back over their lives and see nothing but failure may be inclined to think that the future holds nothing better for them. ,\Vhen thjnking over our battles, if we can only think of ona in which we crone out victor, let us enter the next expecting when it is ended that anothel' victory shall be added to the one already gaineu. The more past victories we Mn. see in our lives, the more encouraged we will. be for the conflicts that are just before us.' In the beginning of each new year, resolutions·-. are made to make the coming year better than the one that has just been numbered 'with the. past. To Cal~ry out these resolutions, nlore earnestness and greater diligence may be requireel Here is where so many fail. After enjoying a g'ood meeting, you l11ay go home with a decision to do some things that should have been done long ago.
