He is the seventh person to leave the department since last semester. by JeffMohl The list of former DePauw student affairs employees just got longer. DOirector of Police and Security Mark_Freeman turned in his resignation last week. Freeman marks the seventh student affairs staffer to resign since last semester, an five of those positions are still unfilled. He cited the opportunities offered in his new position with the state of Indiana as the reason he decided to leave DePauw. "1 saw this as a great opportunity in an area I had a great interest in," Freeman said. Freeman accepted a position with the state of Indiana as a project coordinator for the Governor's Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana. The position, which is newly created, deals mostly with coordinating traffic safety programs with Indiana police departments. He was initially approached about the position about four months ago, and he will start the new job the second week of December. Despite the sudden series of resignations in the student services departm~nt, administrators still claim that each incident is unique and there is no department-wide problem.
